Pastor:  Reverend Martha Dye, mdyefumcpm@bellsouth.net
Office :  706-663-2538

Martha grew up in Bowdon, Georgia and graduated from Bowdon High School in 1966.  That same year, she married her husband Jim from Carrollton.  He had enlisted in the United States Navy the year before, and was stationed in San Diego, California.  This began a twenty year career as “Navy wife,” while Jim made many cruises all over the world.  During these twenty years, three babies were born.  When the youngest was in kindergarten in 1983, Martha began pursuing secondary education, attending part time West Georgia College, Old Dominion University and Virginia Commonwealth University.  She graduated from LaGrange College in 1998 and from Candler School of Theology in 2001.  She served as Youth Pastor at four churches in the North Georgia and Virginia Conferences during this time.  Martha was ordained an elder in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church in 2006.  She has served as associate pastor at Carrollton First UMC, as pastor of the Redwine/Macedonia UMC Charge in Hart County and at Shiloh UMC in Carrollton.  Martha loves to spend time with her seven grandchildren, to go on mission trips, to read and to plant flowers and watch them grow.
