 Children's Ministry

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these". Here at First Methodist we take great care to help nurture a relationship with Jesus Christ and our children.  We believe it is the responsibility of the entire congregation to support, teach and guide the children of First Methodist into the way that leads to life eternal.   Every week we have multiple activities for the children of our church.  Below is a listing of what takes place here each week.  To learn even more contact Director of Children's Ministry.

Sunday School
We offer Sunday school for children age 3 through 5th grade. We use the Rock Solid curriculum from Cokesbury which allows the children to engage in lessons by participating in songs, crafts, skits and stories. This offers a variety of ways for children to experience God and engage in His word. All classes are located within the Christian Education Center (CEC). The classes are grouped as follows: 3 & 4 year olds, Kindergarten & 1st, 2nd & 3rd, 4th & 5th. All children are encouraged to bring their Bibles!

Children’s Church
Children’s church is offered for children 3 years old through 1st grade during the 8:30 and the 11:00 worship service. After the children’s message, the children will follow Shannon to the Family Life Center (FLC), where they will hear Bible stories, make simple crafts, sing, and play together in a safe, nurturing environment.

Children’s Choir/Hand Bells
Children’s choir offers a place for all children to praise God with a joyful noise. Practice is held every Wednesday night from 6:45-7:30 in the children’s choir room (FLC).

Kingdom Seekers
Children age 3 through 5th grade come together on Wednesday nights from 6:15-6:45 to experience wonder and awe at God’s world. Each week a short devotion, crafts and games are used to help children deepen their relationship with God. The class meets in the Family Life Center immediately following Wednesday Night Dinner. Come and join in the fun!

3H Club- (His Helping Hands)
Children age 3 through 5th grade come together on Sunday evenings from 4:30-5:30 to learn the importance of service. A short devotion is given and followed with a weekly mission project. Children learn that God calls us to love and serve one another each and every day! Come and help spread God’s love!
